Onithea "Neni" Lewis received the Female Athlete of the Year Award for 2006. Lewis' specialties are shot put and weight throw and has many US and world championships to her credit.
The Bob Roggy Memorial Award as 2006 Female Field Athlete of the Year went to javelin thrower Sigita Juodvalykte.
Tim Brennan, coach of our National Team spoke about the team and the upcoming USATF Nationals. He also updated us on the exploits of this year's Johnny Hayes Memorial Award winner as Male Athlete of the Year, high jumper Tora Harris, and of the Bob Roggy Memorial Award as 2006's Male Field Athlete of the Year, Tuan Wreh.
Coach Jim Schlentz spoke about this year's High School Athletes of the Year, Craig Forys, who Jim coaches, and Danielle Tauro of Southern Regional.
Craig Forys said a few words as he accepted his award.
High jumper Andre Davis was recognized with a Rodney Craig Memorial Award as Male Youth Athlete of the Year (2006).
Our Female Youth Athlete of the Year (2006), miler Ajee Wilson, also received a Rodney Craig Memorial Award.
Mike Chirico and Christine Clifton of Shore Runner in Long Branch were recognized with a Friend of the Club Award for their support of Shore AC events during 2006. Christine Clifton also received the Mary Conroy Memorial Award as Female Distance Runner of the Year.
Liela Bernstein presents the Irwin Bernstein Masters Athlete of the Year Award to hurdler Phil Bujalski.
Dave DeMonico presented RRCA Volunteer Awards to Isabel Keeley and Donna Cetrulo.
Jeremy Pilkington received the Dr. George Sheehan Memorial Award as the 2006 Men's Distance Runner of the Year.
Shot putter and discus thrower Nicholas Price won the Rookie of the Year for 2006.
Lauren Rhatigan, pictured here with Shore AC president Walter MacGowan, was recognized for several reasons, among them her participation of the team of the Year, the Women's Masters Team, who won the National Masters Cross-Country title at Saratoga Springs, NY. The team consisted of Jill Evarts, Lauren Rhatigan, Christine Gaeta, Liz Ludwigson, and Chris Murphy. Rhatigan also won the Chris Malone Memorial Award as Master Female Distance Runner of the Year (2006). Lauren didn't wear her trademark red shorts to the banquet, but was quick to point out her dress contained red.
The Don Johnson Memorial Award as Masters Male Racewalker of the Year (2006) was given to Tom Quattrocchi.
Maria Paul captured the Don & Marie Henry Award as Female Racewalker of the Year (2006).
Rich Luettchau received the Matthew Stuper Memorial Award for Open Racewalker of the Year (2006).
John Soucheck, who did not attend, received the William H. Funkhouser Sr. Award as 2006 Male Racewalker of the Year

Elliott Denman Service Award For Distinguished Service to the Club (2006) went to Isabel O’Donovan-Keeley.
Dave Hoch (it's pronounced like hoke) received the Team Spirit Award.
Bob Bazley received a President’s Award (2006) for his many years of race directing, especially of the cross-country series.

Phyllis Fyfe was recognized for her many years of service as Membership Secretary of the club.
Colin Beer was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his great running in the 1970's and 1980's, including several great performances in the New York and Jersey Shore Marathons.
Javelin great John Tullo was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Sandy Kalb was made an honorary lifetime trustee of Shore AC. He was a standout at Lakewood High School, ran for "Mr. Wisner" back in the 1950's, and has served NJ's track and field scene as an official for decades.
Dick Hill couldn't figure out why either half of his tickets weren't winning the silent auction.
