Records Fall At All Comers Meet
Tuesday July 18,2006. Ocean Twp. HS. Ninety-five degrees and 90% humidity did not stop SAC Masters from setting 4 club records.
To start the meet SAC Masters 40-49 smashed the 4x1500 record by over a minute. Last years team of Tom Zarra, Bob Andrews, Dave Zurheide and Gerard Pearlberg set the record at 19:16.7. The heat was not going to stop Mark Mellea, who organized the record run. Pearlberg,4:25.41 ran the opening leg and put the team ahead of last years record run. Chris Harkins 4:37.15 added to the lead. Mellea 4:37.30, and a strong anchor leg by Pat Dolan, 4:25.80 assured the record run in 18:05.66.
The last event of the evening,4x200, had 4 teams in the masters section. Three SAC teams set new club records.The winning team SAC Masters 40-49 ran 1:39.91. Pat Dolan 25.66,Bob Andrews 25.83, Pearlberg 26.00 and Keith Davis in a blazing 22.42 anchor leg. Third place team SAC 50-59 ran record time of 2:02.02. Lead off Don Passman 29.01, Tony Plaster 28.26, Dave Freidman 31.43 and SAC President Walter MacGowan 33.32. Walt's first 200 since HS.
SAC 60-69 team had two amazing 200 runners. Lead off leg Nate Byrd 68 years old in 2 weeks,ran 29.17 followed by John MacDonald, 31.37, is 70 years old. John Kuhi 35.78 and Bob Palle 34.86 completed the team for a new record of 2:11.18.

Where else, but a at Shore AC All-Comers would you have record-setting competition and three-year olds running the 100 and long jumping!
